DIVERSITY AT RTC

The world is a big place.
It is changing rapidly and people from many different cultures, faiths and language families are coming together to study, work and live as never before.
We need to make efforts to appreciate our differences and live together amicably. RTC's mission is to "prepare a diverse student population for work," and the college is committed to non-discrimination in all of its educational and employment activities, and to providing equal access to each of its educational programs and activities, and employment opportunities. This policy shall apply to all students and applicants for admission, as well as all employees and applicants for employment, wthout regard to race; color; creed; religion; national origin; sex; sexual orientation; genetic information; marital status; age; the presence of any sensory, mental or physical disability; or whether a Vietnam-era or disabled veteran.

RTC encourages students to enter prof-tech programs that have not traditionally been associated with their gender, such as nursing, dental assisting or early childhood education for men or welding, construction or automotive careers for women.
Often it makes more sense the non-traditional way:
Do you realize how much physical strength it takes to be a nurse?
Did you know that over 60% of the people taking cars in for repair are women
and that women prefer to talk about car troubles with another woman
   instead of a man?
There are certain other advantages. Being in a "gender non-traditional" career often accords hiring advantages... Why not consider such a career yourself?
